Leslie says - "Our young artist is painted just once on the 7.5"x17" back panel; the 4X4” squares with the seasonal designs are painted separately.   The nine holidays are attached to change the design throughout the year.   The plaques can also be painted on their own as independent designs.   This pattern is very long - because -  in reality, it is 10 separate patterns."

Surface: Any flat rectangular surface will work if it is at least 7.5” X 17”.  The inserts (coasters) are simply 4” squares, also available from Viking or in most “big-box” craft stores.    They can be made of paper or any materials you choose.
