Tutorial to paint a cardinal couple guarding their nest of eggs on a flowering apple tree branch using Prismacolor Pencils on a watercolor background. The traceable drawing is 9-1/4" x 11-1/2 " painted on 15"x15" 140 lb. hot press watercolor paper. The pencils, watercolors, and hot press watercolor paper are available at www.dickblick.com.

The background is done with three Winsor & Newton Watercolors: Winsor Blue, Burnt Umber and New Gamboge (which is a yellow). The design is painted with Prismacolor Colored Pencils.
