Prior to being in the craft and hobby industry, Margaret went to school and worked in the medical field. But it just wasn’t what she wanted to do for the rest of her life! In 1982 she left the medical field to purchase a building and open her own craft store that had art supplies as well as needlework supplies. Later she merged with a large store in a neighboring town that had more variety in supplies for the entire family (radio control items, rockets, art supplies, craft supplies, and various other areas). In the middle of her career, Margaret went to beauty school to become a nail tech, but the love of the craft and hobby industry haunted her, and she went back doing it as well as doing nails. Today she creates full time and does not participate in the nail industry.
During her many years in the craft and hobby industry, Margaret has taught numerous classes to people eager to learn how to create fun projects for their home and gift giving. Her teaching and demonstrating have given her many travel opportunities throughout the USA and her life has been enriched with so many people sharing their love for art.
Margaret has worked at craft and hobby trade shows all over the country for various manufacturers, has designed and consulted for many of these companies, edited for publishers and designers, assisted in establishing new products into the market, mass produced products for the gift industry, and has participated in so many other areas of the craft and hobby industry. With each job she gains more experience in this great industry.
Enjoyment of creating is a plus to Margaret. She has had over 200 publications. Presently, you can view some of her books on Amazon and in Hobby Lobby. She’s appeared in magazines and books plus assisted with some TV set-ups in promoting products for manufacturers.
Margaret is married to a loving husband, Sherman, that supports her in all she does. Sherman and Margaret were high school sweethearts, went their separate ways after high school, and finally married in 2007. They travel and live in their RV full time, so her studio is “on wheels”! She has two sons, a stepson, a daughter-in-law, and four adorable grandchildren. Her family is very talented and she encourages each of them to create plus enjoy life filled with the beauty of colors around them. Art is, and always will be, very important that will make her smile, relax, and soak in the beauty of each creation.
