SHIPPING & HANDLING
We try to ship orders by the next business day, but depending on our volume it may be 2-3 business days before we can send it. Please note we are not in office and do not normally ship on Saturday or Sunday. If we are going to be away for a significant period of time, we will post a notice on our store page.

We do include a small handling fee in our shipping charge to offset the cost of special materials, time, and transportation involved in processing orders for shipment.

Within the U.S.
For orders delivered to addresses within the U.S., you will have the choice of media rate postage or first class/priority mail postage. You can select the method you prefer when checking out. Please note that media rate mail is only allowed for books or patterns, and normally takes about 7-9 days for delivery, but can take up to 3-4 weeks in high volume periods or if you live in a very rural location. Please DO NOT select Media Rate postage if your order contains items other than books and patterns. Shipping & Handling for Media Rate is based on the weight of the order and ranges from $3.25 for 1 lb. up to $6.75 for 10 lbs. Priority takes 2-3 days, but this is not guaranteed by the Post Office. Shipping & Handling for a Priority Flat Rate envelope within the U.S. is $5 (holds up to 7-8 books); Flat Rate Box is $10.50 (holds up to 40-48 books). If you prefer another service, please make a note in the comments section of your checkout.

Mail Sent to Third Parties within the U.S. for Forwarding
Due to lost packages sent to third party handlers in the U.S., we will include a signature confirmation on all packages sent to a third party (either a mail forwarder or a friend/relative) for forwarding to the customer. We will charge an additional $2.00 for the signature confirmation. This will not show up on your shopping cart, but will be added when we process the order.

Outside the U.S.
Orders to customers mailed to locations outside the U.S. will normally be shipped by Priority International Flat Rate Mail service, unless other service is requested. This is usually the most cost effective and dependable postage rate. A Priority International Flat Rate envelope can hold 7-8 books (depending on their size). Shipping & Handling for a Flat Rate envelope is currently $11 to Canada or Mexico, and $13 for all other countries. If this class is available and your order is for more items than will fit into one envelope, we will break the order into multiple envelopes, as needed, in order to save you postage. Priority Flat Rate Box is best for larger orders that would require more than 2 flat rate envelopes, and the cost includes some insurance based on the weight of the order. A Flat Rate Box can hold 40-48 books. Shipping & Handling for a Flat Rate Box is currently $26 to Canada or Mexico, and $42 to all other countries.

Surface mail is no longer available effective May 14, 2007.

Insurance
We are not responsible for non-delivery of orders or damage to an order once it is given to the postal service. If you would like to insure your shipment, please put a note in the comment section when you are checking out. Postal insurance is $1.65 up to $50, and increases above that value.

PLEASE NOTE: While 99% of orders sent to locations outside the U.S. are eventually delivered (in some South American countries this can take up to 2 months), we cannot be responsible for non-delivery of international orders. We will be happy to re-send your order, but we will have to charge you for the duplicate postage. Orders sent by Priority Flat Rate ENVELOPE cannot be track nor insured. Orders sent by Priority Flat Rate BOX include a minimum amount of insurance based on the weight of the package, but additional insurance can be added. The post office will assist in tracking BOX shipments. If you want a guaranteed shipment, we suggest you request delivery by a courier service such as FedEx although it can be much more expensive. Please be sure the shipping address you provide to us is complete and accurate.

Duties/Taxes
You may be responsible for duties and taxes on your order at the time of delivery. Please check with your local taxing authorities before you order to see if that cost is acceptable to you.

RETURNS
We normally will not accept returns of books, since the process of mailing them back and forth results in worn books that cannot be resold. If there are exceptional circumstances, we can discuss this with you. If we do agree to accept a return that is not a result of our error, the customer will be responsible for return postage.
